Struggling with Treatment: Keep Trying or Let it Be?

I’ve tried many different types of treatments and none of them worked, should I keep trying? Or is it something I need to let progress over time?

Note on emdr- I tried it a bit ago and for some reason I do not even understand (probably subconscious) I had one of the biggest anxiety attacks of my life first session only a few minutes in. End of the day, I was not near as ready as I am not for the treatment. So point is, make sure you allow yourself time to take each step, small or large, to get to that better place. It's a marathon not a sprint. In my case, ive found that slow and steady definitely win the race for me

My trauma happened kinda recently (2 years ago ish) and I haven’t really started processing it (only had like 3 EMDR sessions)

I have tried EMDR but at the moment I have no job and my father has been in and out of the hospital for months now so my parents just can’t afford therapy rn for me so I’m not sure what I can do on my own to help cope

EMDR and medical cannabis have been life changers for me

EMDR has worked really well for me so far! The only real downside to it is that your mind may want to continue to process in between appointments, and depending on how badly it impacts you, it can become a bit of a hinderance

Have you tried EMDR? I just recently started trauma therapy a couple months ago and then just started incorporating EMDR and I have seen more progress with that. ❤️
