I’ve found that comparing yourself to who you used to be does way more harm than good. You are a completely different person now and all you can do is strive to be the best version of yourself in the present. I was a world champion jiu jitsu competitor before my major trauma and now I can barely walk some days due to autoimmune problems/depression/etc. You are so much wiser now and have a totally different perspective in life. You still bring value to the world and things will get better if you keep pushing forward.

A lot of people don't like the idea of using medication to treat mental illnesses but I find it incredibly helpful :)

I was stuck in a horrible mental cycle for years. I finally got anxiety medication from Alpha medical without insurance so my family wouldn't know and it allowed me to finally have control over my own thoughts again. I hope things get better for you!
