Does anyone else have a really hard time with transitions? What do you do for yourself? I have a hard time adjusting from being at work to being at home. I’m usually very agitated when I walk through the door 😖

Try making a space in your home dedicated to adjusting after work if you can! Clear out some time after you get home and hang out in that space until you feel you’ve adjusted, for me that space is just my room, so when I get home from being somewhere else I often just lay in bed with the lights off for an hour or two until I feel good enough to walk around the house again and it helps a lot!

Is it like having a leftover feeling from being at work that carries over to home?

I have nothing to offer besides that I get that! I didn't even realize that that was something I struggled with until just reading it and oh my word you're right! I have such a hard time getting places and leaving places. It's like I'm not ready for the change even though it's such a small (relatively) change

Not easy but having a schedule for everything helps

I like to have a pretty set schedule so I can prepare for transitions ahead of time. If I'm having trouble, I had straight to my makeshift sensory deprivation room (it's a closet, lol) until I've calmed down enough to be an adult again.
