I'm having an incessant need to s*lf h*rm just to feel pain. I always get so scared of letting myself be happy, so I try and make myself numb again because it's familiar. Does anyone else struggle with this?

I do struggle with this myself at times. It is hard to explain to professionals without having good repor with them. I do recommend that you try and talk to someone you can trust enough to talk to about it. Until then maybe a hobby or skill to put that energy into productive use. Personally when I am having trouble I try and schedule for a new tattoo that way I can feel something and then I dont want to ruin it, but that's not for everyone due to religious, peronal, financial reasons. There are also temp tattoos and "calm strips" you can find online, putting them there as a physical/visual aid to help remeber to not do that behavior can help you understand where those feelings are coming from by stopping and thinking before acting. I hope you find something that works for you.

I thought I was the only one !! I'm so sorry you're feeling like this. I recommend doing yoga or work out.
