Struggling with Stress Overload and Fibromyalgia

Hello. My name is Antoinette. I'm struggling currently with severe stress overload which amps up my fibromyalgia. I need suggestions on stress relieving techniques. What do you guys do to decrease your stress and stay happy with everything you have going on suffocating you making your life unmanageable?

Taking time to laugh out loud. Talking to people who actually understand what you are going through. Giving advice to people who need help. These are my go to solutions for stress. I know that it may sound counter-productive to offer help when you feel like you are not in control of your own life, but it really does help a lot. Also ask for help if you need it, I still struggle with this but I found out that most people actually want to help you but don't really know what to do. Be specific like "can you please bring me some lunch tomorrow" or whatever you need. You can't really stop stress from coming into your life unfortunately and no amount of meditation is going to change that. Feeling like you are helpful and have a purpose helps you to feel like you have more control over your life though. And laughing out loud is the best stress relief because laughing reduces your adrenaline and cortisol levels and boosts your dopamine and serotonin

Thank you for your input! It actually does not sound counter-productive at all! I'll give it a try. I'm currently unemployed which is yes, making me feel helpless. I had a job I loved but they let me go over something so stupid and now I'm trying to appeal and go back because it didn't even feel like a job to me, it was so much fun! But I will hopefully find something soon so I can feel helpful and like I have a purpose 😊
