Struggling with Spinal Stenosis: The Shopping Cart Syndrome

As for spinal stenosis, I’m way to young to not stand up straight as if age should be a factor🤷🏻‍♀️.. I find it so difficult to stand up properly without the urge to bend slightly to ease the pressure I get in the upper middle part of my back. They call it shopping cart syndrome. I can walk all day if I had one.. I used to walk regularity but it’s a struggle because my spine is narrowing

You know I'm not sure, he mentioned it and before we got to discuss it in depth my insurance shot it down.

I have been trying to make a -painful effort to stand up straight. But at this point it hardly matters, I can only stand or walk for a couple minutes anyway

What my orthopedic Dr suggested which was epidural injections - my insurance won't approve unless I jump thru hoops and do other stuff that doesn't seem helpful

that’s because EVERYONE wants to profit off of your pain

It’s terrible. There has to be something that can be done

I'm the same as you both and it's so embarrassing. I'm only 63 already and this spinal stenosis is ruining my life. The Dr. won't operate. I do nerve blocks for pain management every two weeks. This helps me minimally. When I go shopping I have to ride in the electric shopping cart. I grateful to be alive but this is just a travesty

I feel the same way! I'm fixing to be 62 but walk like I'm 90😭
