Struggling with Socializing: Need Advice

aghh okay this app layout is kind of confusing to understand-- but i do have a quick question. does anyone know what to do about repeating? whenever im around people, i have a hard time conversing naturally, which causes me to repeat certain phrases or words that ive seen before(even if i dont quite understand it). ive been made fun of countless times for this, and ive also been told its annoying/frustrating that im "mirroring" them, when its completely unintentional. i dont really know what to do about this though, and i would appreciate it if anyone had any tips. thank you!

I've been told that I repeat certain topics a lot and I get made fun of for it, or told that it's annoying, and it makes me feel awful, and deep inside I want to cry because I don't intentionally try to. When I have a comfort topic I'm going to end up talking about, at the end of the day, having a conversation with the person who called you out on it could help both parties be more mindful towards each other, it'll let them know how you feel when they are being a bit insensitive and let you be more aware of your habits around them. But this is only if you feel comfortable enough with them to let them know about it.

Consciously try to mirror them, practice doing whatever they do, speaking at the same volume and cadence, it really helps... Unless you get into a fight. I like talking to certain people more because copying their behavior feels nice, like I'm getting to be like them for a bit

I do the same thing and it's hard to even notice when I do it. But when I'm aware of it I try to just say it quietly so I don't disturb the conversation to much.
