Struggling with Social Needs and Pushing People Away

my social needs are always so low and i naturally push people away because i get antsy and irritated when i’m around people when my brain doesn’t want to interact and nobody seems to understand that my brain just.. turns off

A possible choice could be to invest time practicing with online friendships that are naturally physically distanced. Especially when you’re playing games together, your brain doesn’t focus solely on interacting with that one person and you can enjoy the moment more. I understand where you’re coming from—it sucks and I’ve found that instead of changing who I am, I’ll find ways to work around it ❤️

yeah, i feel this. some weeks go by where i just… forget to talk to many people. whenever i get overwhelmed in social situations, i start staring off and i stop reacting much. i still get lonely every so often, but i also feel like my social need is maybe a bit smaller than other peoples.

I think that a lot of people can relate to that feeling, sending hugs to you ❤

I can relate I get very overwhelmed easily so it’s always nice to just be alone and recharge. It helps to have friends with interests in common for when you’re in a mood to interact with others.
