Struggling with Selective Mutism

Does anyone else have the issue with I've always have had selective mutism and it's like people don't believe it's a thing because I can talk to some people or I can force myself to talk sometimes and just assume if I don't talk to them I'm being rude

Yes! Its so annoying. People will think I don't like them or are avoiding them. And sm can be difficult to understand, so many don't. Can definitely relate!

Yes I have this problem all the time it's not that I try to go mute it just happens because I am really stressed or anxious and the person seems uncomfortable and so I will feel uncomfortable talking to them because they feel uncomfortable. I also have a hard time ordering things at a shop or something.
