Why do I always feel like people don't care about me?

why is it anytime I start to get close to someone I develop this irrational fear that they don't care about me even when they say they do, and when i see them come online I get really anxious if I don't get a message from them after a little while, or feel completely devastated if they look at my message without replying.. even though I know they are busy.. i just feel like they only started being friendly cause they felt bad for me, and that increases my feeling rejection, which in turns makes me feel sad and causes me to isolate myself..

Rejection sensitivity is really common with ADHD, autism, and a lot of other neurodivergencies. Some of it comes from real life examples of rejection that we can’t get out of our heads, and some of it is our lovely brains idea of what might happen. It’s valid to feel this way, and it’s natural to want to connect with others. You can take your time to be curious about these feelings in a nonjudgmental way. Maybe come up with ways to get the reassurance you are looking for. And keep talking about this; keep sharing, because you’re helping both yourself and others who feel this way when you share your experience. I hope that connection can become a source of joy for you instead of fear, but take your time to understand what works to help you feel better first.

That's called rejection sensitive dysphoria! Its when you react to a rejection that you anticipate or expect without any actual evidence that it's going to happen. Its most often seen in people with ADHD and/or CPTSD.

In my experience it’s because it’s not really about them it’s about whatever in ur past put this way of thinking in ur head. I know that doesn’t really help, and I’m sorry u r going through this. If u need someone to talk to I’m usually around🌻
