I was sexually assaulted twice and just tried to suppress it all for 5 years. I didn’t realize the damage it was doing to me until i started going to therapy. I know it isn’t accessible for everyone, but my copay is only $10 per session and being able to talk to someone about it with no judgment is helping me so much. Currently processing so much grief that I had never allowed myself to before and it’s really painful right now but I know I’m healing and it’s worth it. CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy) and EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) have helped me so much. I know it isn’t an option for everyone but nothing else has come close to helping the way therapy has. Sending ❤️

for me talking to a therapist has eased the pain. im also the kind of person who just tries to forget that it ever happened though.
