Struggling with my Relationship with My Mom

Is it just me or are there others out there that don't get along with their mom? Like a good mom. I just can't stand my mom. Just talking to her drives me crazy. I never talked to her about boys or school life or female stuff. I don't know why. Whenever I do talk to her she always tries to fix it or tells me what I 'need' to do. Or if I'm just venting out about someone, she always takes their side. Never mine. She also made me take piano lessons. I didn't want to at all but I had to. I was able to get out of them by getting into playing a different instrument in school. But my mom still made me take lessons for that instrument. When I was young I was really interested in doing gymnastics. My friends said I would be really good at it. I asked my mom for weeks and she always said, "We'll talk about it later." I realized she was never going to let me do it so I stopped asking. I could go on and on but those are the main things that are always on my mind. (And I don't want anyone to get board. Lol) Don't get me wrong, I love my mom and she has been a good mom all my life. I think I turned out pretty good. But now that I am a mom I am going to make sure I'm the mom I've always wanted.
