Struggling with Mental Health: Seeking Advice

Hi, my name is Jonah. I'm 18, and recently I've been hearing about conditions like Bipolar Disorder or Schizophrenia, and I often display those symptoms. I also have an often critical voice in my head that sometimes feeds me negative comments, but can also be helpful when I need to be logical about a situation. I'm also moderately depressed (according to a test I took). Do anyone of you have problems like this?

      @JS18 it might if you fight against it. It doesn't have to define you. The more questions you answer, the easier it is to live a more fluid life. It is definitely important to at least talk to someone before deciding on which path to take.

      There are different types of schizophrenia including schizoaffectice. This means that you have a co-occurring disorder of schizophrenia and a mood disorder (depression, anxiety, or bipolar). It is common to be schizoaffect with bipolar. It is also possible to have a main diagnosis of a mood disorder (anxiety, depression, bipolar) and have psychotic features. When people reach a high or low with their mood they can experience psychosis. Definitely look into finding a psychiatrist. This is the only way to know for sure! Good luck šŸ’•

        @Boobear98 I was thinking along those lines too. I read both definitions and symptoms on Google and I felt like I related to the symptoms. I'm kind of afraid to seek help, I feel like that'll only legitimize the issue and make it worse
