Struggling with Mental Health

i’m honestly so tired all of the time, i barely eat anymore, my room has looked like an atomic bomb went off for days, and i’ve stopped taking my meds since they aren’t working (i take 100mg of zoloft). anyone have any suggestions to help me before i spiral out of control again?

but i’m def gonna follow these amazing tips!!! it just sucks being away from home for so long bc everyone knows what i’m going through but when i’m away at school only my roommate truly knows and i don’t wanna burden her with my problems. i could write a whole ass novel abt all this but i’m gonna start reading my book and try to get to bed early tonight. thank you all again 💕

thank you u guys… it honestly means a lot. i’ve been off my meds before and i was fine for a few months, but i went back to college and the change of scenery + routine made me drop so low. i’ve been back on them but my body built up a tolerance i guess so they’re not rlly working anymore. i have 2 therapists (one when i’m at home and the other when i’m at college) and we’ve discussed switching over to a new kind so i guess i thought i’d be fine taking a break from them. i’ve taken one tonight so i’m gonna try my best to continue taking them until i switch.

Yes do not go off your meds. Talk to your doctor about switching or upping as well. It’s possible to go up to 200 or 300 I believe so you have wiggle room. As for eating, I try to eat things I enjoy when I don’t feel up to it but need to anyways. Any sustenance is good when your body is deprived. Also vitamins are good too. I’m not someone to be taking cleaning advice from. Actually I’ve learned a new technique from Snowy today, thanks bud

Ditto on meds. You never want to stop SSRIs cold turkey, it can do bad things to your brain. Talk to your doc instead! They can advise you on weaning off and getting on a new medication. There are so many out there to try, zoloft didn't work for me either. As for food and eating, some advice I've heard and try to do when I'm having trouble with it is "eat with your brain and not with your stomach." Meaning, eat things you know are good for you and just eat as much as you can. If that isn't very much, that's okay. Save it and try again later. Something I've tried to work on the "depression messy" mess (my room is pretty bad rn too) is to set a timer and put things away for that amount of time. When the timer is up, you can stop and be done for that day. If that's too hard, try for a goal of putting 1-3 things away per day. Even if more mess happens than you cleaned up, that's 1-3 things that are in their place that weren't before and that you won't have to deal with later. Best of luck to you! I would advise not to take off your meds. I did the same thing myself thinking the same thing but it can get much worse.
