How many of you struggle with retaining information/memory loss? How do you handle it?

I struggle really badly. I have to write everything down. Post it notes are super helpful. I also write as people talk (like they’re giving me a list of tasks to do, I write down the tasks as they say them and then repeat the list back to them to make sure I got them all). I do memory games and challenges in hopes it helps my brain with this but I’m not sure. I even journal memories that I want to keep but know my brain is not storing (right after an event I write it down in as much detail as I can). Somethings I just can’t force my brain to hold on to and it’s very frustrating.

I struggle the most with it at work, and yes, writing things down is HUUGE!!! In day to day life, I sit down with my planner once a day to “regroup” and think through everything. And then write it down. 😂 Sometimes I’ll also tell my friends. And the simple act of asking someone to remind me of something usually helps me remember.

Same issue here too. I write everything down or take a screenshot of things on my phone or take a pic of something I want or need to remember because sometimes I’ll misplace the paper or notebook I wrote it on. I’ve also done apps on my phone that improve memory.

My planner is my best friend! I keep one at home and one in my purse.
