Struggling with Medication Side Effects

I've been having a hard time with medications lately. Seroquel has been causing me some really bad drowsiness, to the point where I can't get up in the morning and I have been missing classes. Tried to see of I could change medications the other day but I said the name of the wrong medicine and didn't realize until I was about to leave so my doctor had switched the wrong med and now I'm to anxious to try to get him to change it again. It is frustrating because Seroquel has really helped with my depression but this one side effect is having a serious impact on my everyday life. Any advice?

I’ve had a lot of success with Lamotrigine (Lamictal) treating my depression, and I have heard many other people seeing great results with it as well. It is a mood stabilizer, but it’s often used for depression, especially treatment-resistant depression. I have had literally zero side effects since starting it, and apparently that’s how it is for most people, so I would recommend looking into it if you want to avoid the side effects.

U do realize that serequel is not antidepressants right is an antipsychotic i take it too but i only take it at night time cause it makes me sleep the onlything bad about serequel is that it makes u gain weight if u want an antidepressant that would work i suggest prozac i was taking that for my depression for 4 yrs and i stopped cause I realize that smoking weed helps my depression even better u should try either weed or prozac

Hi, there are lots of meds that can help you with depression that aren't Seroquel and have a different side effect profile that might work for you. I think the person who knows best to help is really the doctor, so contact him and try to ask him to change your medicine.
