Struggling with Leg Ulcers: Seeking Advice

Hello! I'm a 43 year old female born and raised in the Northeast of England. This is my first post. I have a ton of health problems, but my worst lately are the leg ulcers. I've had them before, around 4 years ago, and 6 weeks in compression bandages healed them. This time, it's been almost 3 years since they appeared. After 36 separate treatments for a recurring infection, I'm now on a prescribed course of propholactic (long-term) antibiotics, 6 months of treatment has become 14 months and still taking them. Not only that, I still get infections that need extra treatment at least every other month. The compression isn't working. The pain relief (Oramorph) isn't helping at all, and I can't see them ever healing now. I've gained at least 2 stone due to immobility because of them. Has anyone had any positive results from light compression? Anyone had successful relief with a painkiller for them. If so, what is/was it? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to this platform! I'm sorry for all you've going through. I don't have experience with the ulcers you have, but I do have experience with pain meds. Have you had relief from the Oramorph in the past, and it's no longer working. Or has the Oramorph never helped with your pain.

I've been using the Oramorph for around 12 years now. I use it sparingly because I also the slow release morphine tablets. Doctor increased my dosage of the Oramorph, all that did was make me vomit. I'm just at the point of giving up. Feel like I've been fighting a battle I'll never win. Thank you for your reply 🤗
