I’ve been experiencing sleep issues for a while and I started seeing a functional medicine doctor. For me it’s been something I feel like I can’t control and I’ve tried a lot of things so I’m hoping it improves. My doc is trying to get to the root cause of my symptoms (:

Ty everyone yes I have tried meditation and teas oils and my brain just doesn't shut off. My caffeine intake honestly has alot to do with it and I sleep maybe 5 hours or less a night. But still get up and go to work everyday. I also have a 2 year old who doesn't sleep well either and I won't medicate him. We just work through it.

have you tried hypnotics or sedatives? Also reducing caffeine intake through the day, or stopping all caffeine after 3 can make a difference

Hi! I’m religious so when I can’t sleep I’ll read the Bible or play worship music which helps calm my brain then I can sleep. I also listen to Dappy T Keys Piano worship music on YT so you can listen to that even if you’re not religious. It’s so relaxing for me. Also, I’ve heard that people like Dr. Teal’s sleep products. There’s sleep lotion, bath salts, and sleep spray. They also make kids versions of their products.

I use a weighted blanket and listen to planet noises, bell chimes, and waves at a low volume (You can use any noise you like though). I also often drink Chamomile tea and try to stay away from bright lights, especially bright blue lights before bed. I don't know if these will work for you but they may. Hope this helps. :)
