Struggling with IBS, need advice on managing symptoms

Hey guys! How do you guys deal with IBS? What foods do you eat that don’t irritate your bowels? I’m having a really rough time trying to get my bowels under control, lots of laxatives either don’t work or work too much, I don’t really know what to do to keep things regular without it being strenuous on my body.

I’ve found eating mostly well raised animal products and raw milk to be helpful

Low FODMAP, gluten/dairy/alcohol/caffeine/carbonation/aspartame free. I work with a naturopath and am doing acupuncture, too.

I'm currently working with a nutritionist and I've figured out that beta casein type A1 leads to many of my issues, but now I'm trying to figure out the rest

I have the constipation form of IBS and I found that ANY beans and legumes were just awful for me. Of course… I love peanut butter and hummus so….

I started out by just trying to avoid dairy and that works ok. I agree with FODMAP. I haven’t really tried it because I live in a dorm and don’t have full control over what food is available. But a lot of what I already avoid aligns with the FODMAP.

I would check out the FODMAP diet. I learned a lot about what foods might be better or worse for me. I did not do it properly however, and if you are serious about finding out good foods for you it will take serious dedication. I would at least check it out though because I learned a lot about food in general. ❤️
