Does anybody else struggle with a complete inability to keep your living space/ environment tidy? And collecting things- aka hoarding?! I'm regularly labeled as slovenly and lazy- I do object to that. The most common thing I'm called, though, is a hoarder. I think they're right, unfortunately. It took me about 8 years to even admit it. That label carries so much stigma, but it's accurate...:(

@Livinglife863803 Unfortunately, background noise is one of my main distractions. If there's a show/ song/ podcast etc., I will freeze and ponder what's being said the entire time it's playing.

Oh meant to add I do have a hard time collecting things, not so much as just keeping things tidy but KC Davis (mentioned in my last comment) does seem to have her DMs open for questions and recommendations on any topic, you could search her page and also ask her

@stylin_star I relate to this to my core. My whole life my mother has labeled me as extremely lazy, going as far to label me as many different things. I never knew what was “wrong” with me, and even though I have more answers now, it’s not like I was able to magically clean up my dishes easier just because I found out I have ADHD (it’s still hard af for me to keep things tidy, though helpful to know there’s a “reason” I guess). Here is a book that changed my life and is very short and easy to read (Since I have ADHD books are so tough but this one I could actually finish): How to Keep a House while Drowning by KC Davis. https://www.amazon.com/How-Keep-House-While-Drowning/dp/1668002841 Not everything is entirely relatable to everyone in this book BUT her tips are great and I look at house chores much different now. Also her Instagram is a great resource - tons of tips and answered questions : @strugglecare If you read this book feel free to message me and we can nerd out about what care tasks we’ve learned to do better ;)

It’s hard sometimes but what usually helps motivate me is music while picking up and cooking or anything that needs to be done there is times I don’t feel like doing anything except laying down and being on my phone sometimes I don’t even want to do that

I have a have a hard time keeping my space clean too. I just don't have the motivation for it most days. To deal with that I invite a friend over at least every other week which gives me the motivation to clean before they get there. I can't relate much to hoarding, I collect a lot but I also have a habit of getting rid of a lot (sometimes more than I should). I was a child of a hoarder and my step grandmother was as well. I know it can be an incredibly emotional journey to fix it, but acknowledging it is the first step step!
