Struggling with GI Issues for 10 Months

Hey, my name is Amber. I’ve been struggling with GI issues for about ten months now. I got a colonoscopy done which revealed I have diverticulosis. However, it is not the root cause of my symptoms. My symptoms include mucus coming out of my anus, stomach pain after eating, anal pain, diarrhea, constipation, low iron levels, blood in my stool and on the toilet paper, and feeling fatigued easier than usual. I have a doctor who honestly has no clue what to do, and I am growing frustrated as I feel like I am hitting my head against a wall every day. If you have any advice for me please reach out to me.

@Nikki97 That sounds awful I’m so sorry. My doctors haven’t been able to do anything to clear up my symptoms either, so I feel your frustration.

frustration is definitely the word I'd use. It's okay, I just have to take things day by day.

I have a lot of the same symptoms. I dealt with my first bout of diverticulitis 2 weeks ago and it was awful. I went to my doctor and they gave me medicine to help bind the bile in my stools, pain meds, was put on antibiotics, told to go on a liquid diet the first 24hrs of my medicine, and work my way back up to eating. I was essentially living on body armor drinks, water, and crackers for a while. Things still aren't fully cleared up either
