Struggling with Food Cravings

does anyone struggle with food in that something might sound really good but then when you make it yourself once it's done you don't want to eat it/almost feel sick at the thought of the thing you were just craving? It's happened yesterday and today and I think I became overly familiar with the tiniest parts of the textures as I prepared it and then those tiny bits make me not want it but idk

I feel ur pain. I'm craving chicken protein something g other then yogurt but my mind won't allow me to go there. Nothing worse then staring at a food u can't eat. I have am extreme fear of choking. Panick attacks suck and I'll do anything g to avoid them which is unintentional starvation. In therapy for it bit it's slow going. Does anybody else feel so out of control?

If I don’t make my favorite meal right I don’t wanna eat it. It’s Tuna Noodle and if we add too much cream of mushroom or tuna I hate it!

Yes all the time. Sometimes textures just bother me, sometimes taste, sometimes both. Truth is, i eat very little… sometimes only once a day if that, and usually breakfast food (i find it to be the most familiar and least offensive)

Yes. Also, sometimes depending on my level of overwhelm, I may not even be able to decide on a food or be able to make any. At that point, eating is definitely out of the question as well

exactly!!! I go to bed having eaten barely anything all day because it's easier to deal with hunger pain than it is to make a decision

Yeah, I do this often. I also seem to spend all my energy (and sensory bandwidth) on making the food that I don't have the energy (or sensory bandwidth) to eat it. So I've been going with prepackaged foods/protein shakes for the past year+ just to meet minimum daily calories (and I'm not meeting those recently)

Happens every once in a while for me so you’re not alone in that. Sucks to cook it and then feel that way tho :( Makes for some GOOD leftovers if you do start to crave it again tho bc boom, it’s already prepared
