Struggling with Fibromyalgia: A Living Hell

I’ve recently been struggling with my fibro. I couldn’t get out of bed to go to school for 2weeks now and I can’t wait until I get my hospital/homebound forums filled out. Everyday is a living hell and I’ve rarely found anything to hold onto to keep me going. I’m only at the beginning of my chronic illness journey and it feels like nothing is getting better. My knees are constantly hurting and preventing me from walking. I just want the pain to be over.

I just wanted to say i am in a super similar situation but it's my hips/legs. I had to dropout of college because I can't walk for more than 10 minutes tops and then I'm bed bound. I don't have it figured out and i really can't give a solution cause i also am having a hard time seeing it getting better. But i wanted to let you know you aren't alone- and that we may not have the same thing but i do know that pain and it's consuming. My best advice is just trying to work on anything, knitting, drawing, crocheting from bed. Anything that will keep your mind off the pain because that's the only thing that gets my through

Keep up with your doctor and try to find something that will give you relief. There are lots of things to try. It might just take a while to find it.

I struggled while in school with chronic pain and illness. I actually had to go to online school, then even drop out for a year before i could finish and get my hs diploma. I think it is very important to remember that certain responsibilities are set, and others are flexible, but your body is not expendable. When hurting, it is important to take care of yourself. Seek help, engage in self care of all types, keep those you trust in the loop, find solutions to make your quality of life better. School is flexible, and resources can be found to help with that when you are unwell. Really figure out which activities are necessary, vs which ones are better to do. Because if it is better to do something but you run yourself into the ground to do it, you will just feel worse. Always here. Love and light ❤️ 🌟

The beginning of a chronic illness journey is always the worst part. I can’t offer much help about the pain, as I’m in the same situation, but I can say you’re not alone. If you ever need to vent about this stuff or talk to someone else with fibromyalgia about your symptoms, there are plenty of people on this all willing to listen!
