Struggling with Eye Contact: Any Advice?

Hi! I want to know, who else has a tough time looking at peoples faces. Not just their eyes. So I have a crush on a guy, and have been trying real hard to talk to him and get close, but I can barely look at his face just out of nervousness. I do this often with strangers, like I can barely look at anything close to their eyes for I get scared, and I was just wondering if anyone else does this? I know that if its worth it, my crush wouldnt mind if I did make eye contact (eventually with warming up I do it without thinking anyways), but actually looking at him would definitely help with making a connection. Any advice? Or anyone else with similar experience?

I used to have this problem, now it's eye contact only unless I'm super anxious, then it gets hard to look at someone's face at all. My advice would be to do it anyway, it'll help you get used to it

It definitely depends on how you position yourself when conversating. Until it gets easier to do this with someone, I tend to talk beside them or focus my hands on something so looking away makes sense.

This happens to me when I like someone I can't look at their eyes or them without my heart racing a million times. I'd say maybe try talking to them slowly at first like not talking too much but little bits to get you more courage and to be more comfortable. It's good to become friends or acquaintances with them first so it's less anxious.

I still have trouble looking into my gf’s eyes after 1.5 years!! it used to make me nervous, but now it makes me nervous in a good way haha. it also makes the moments with eye contact more special in my opinion, so you will still make a very nice connection with this person with or without consistent eye contact!
