I started doing exposure therapy once a week with my case manager and have been forcing myself to leave the house when I have an opportunity. When does it get better? It's So hard. I dont go inside anywhere yet, just ride in the car. I'm on .5 Klonopin a day plus 10mg lexapro and 50 seroquel at night. The klonopin helps some but not nearly enough. My prescription allows me to take a second klonopin every other day. Should I take a second pill before exposure? or should I just try to push through it without?

Well I was agoraphobic for 8 months straight and the only time I was able to go out was with one of my parents to places but eventually after 8 months the Dr added Abilify and it broke me out of that mindset, but my Dr at the time wasn’t worried about the amount of Klonopin I was on at about 2mg per day eventually I was able to break through to go anywhere with time and effort, but the Klonopin played a huge part and was eventually increased to 3mg per day and I been on that dose for since 2009 until now, the issue is that now my body is so used to the 3mg that I don’t really obtain relief so the max dose is 4mg a day and I may have to take it because my body is so used to the 3mg, so I would say to really use the Klonopin only when you need it. With the work of your therapist and creating a good plan and stable on meds you can bounce back and live a healthy life. The more exposure you get outside the less fearful you’ll be and you will know your limits but honestly it’s a battlefield in your mind and you really need to take steps that are going to be fearful but it’s the only way to break out of the homebound life.

Is klonopin something you take in the event you have a panic attack?

@Nina716 yes, it's like xanax or ativan except it lasts longer and takes longer to kick in
