Does anyone else here struggle with eating when feeling different emotions? I feel like I go to food too often as my comfort thing. I’ve ended up gaining around 30 pounds the past few years. Do you have advice on how to stop doing this habit? I feel like every time I do well for a week or so then I have a bad night of just nonstop eating and have to start over again and it’s hard to just stop.

Food is a coping skill for a lot of people. Being mindful is a start. Instead of self medicating with food try taking a walk, meditation, Journaling to help you push through a challenging day

depending on the food you might could pre-separate it into single serve portions? then just eat the one portion and be done. like with chips for example, if you have the whole bag you can just go through them like nothing, but if you put them into single servings it's way easier to quit with just finishing the one serving. you might also talk to a doctor about binge eating disorder - i'm not an expert on it but it sounds kinda similar to what you're describing (my brother has it). they can use cbt techniques to help you overcome those emotional eating binges. and b.e.d. is supposedly the most common eating disorder in the usa, so youre definitely not the only one
