I guess I'm not diagnosed with an ED but I can't fucking stand eating. My parents don't help. I don't eat breakfast, don't eat lunch, and eat very little dinner. Everyone says "it's just unhealthy eating habits" or "you just have to eat healthier". Dude. This started in kindergarten I can't stand it. And then people just. Get mad at me for not eating. THAT MAKES ME ANXIOUS AND NOT WANT TO EAT EVEN MORE CAUSE I FEEL LIKE IM GOIJG TO VOMIT FFS. I have been almost in tears 2 times today because my school nurse fucking yelled at me for not eating, and then my parents did as well. They're not trying to help me. They tried to help for like. A week. And gave up. They gave up. And they get mad at ME. I'm freaking out. I can't stand it here.

This sounds a lot like Avoidant-Restrictive Food Intake Disorder. There are a few different types. It may help to look into Aversive Type ARFID and Restrictive Type ARFID. Aversive Type: “Not eating as much as others due to fear of choking, pain, nausea, or other unpleasant physical sensations.” Restrictive Type: “Having little interest in food or little appetite.” I hope you are doing okay, I know this post was from a while ago.

I would talk to your doctor about this, it sounds like you need help with your anxiety. Kind wishes ❤️

That's so valid, I'm sorry you don't have great support from people like your parents, but what you're going through is valid. Eating can be really hard sometimes, but it'll be okay (ik that's cliche but it's true) Some things that might help are taking small steps. For example, sometimes I push myself to eat 3 meals a day and when I don't, I feel like I've failed. But just eating small snacks or really anything when you can is amazing. Take it slow and don't push yourself too hard, but focus on doing your best. Also, for me, I have autism so I deal with a lot of sensory issues related to food (idk if you can relate or not) but changing what I eat and focusing on foods I really like made eating easier. For example, sometimes if I have a hard time eating, I'll eat a bowl of ice cream. It's not the most nutritious but really eating anything is better than nothing and anything you're able to eat is amazing. I hope that was somewhat helpful, but im here if you ever need any support or anything. You're doing amazing and you so got this

You need a specialist my friend. It's impossible to go through that alone

Do you just have no desire to eat? No appetite? Or are you afraid to eat? Just curious to know, because I’ve been struggling and I have to take medication for an appetite to even appear. I have anxiety, OCD and depression and the loss of appetite has randomly developed for me this past year.

@DJ_1 it's kind of both. Not desire, then my anxiety makes me nauseous so then I don't want to eat

@DrexOrDanny Happens to me. It’s like my brain will not allow me to eat until I resolve the current anxiety situation. It’s also like my brain and gastrointestinals started working together. When my mental health declines, so does my appetite/increased nausea.
