For me the best thing that helped me get it together in terms of my diabetes care was improved technology. I always struggled so much to maintain good carb counting and blood sugar monitoring because I would get burned out by the constant effort. It's a lot easier for me now that I have an insulin pump that communicates with a cgm and makes dosing decisions for me based on sugar levels. I don't know if this is helpful info or not, depending on whether you are able to access that technology / are already using it

i am definitely going to look into getting the pump because nothing else seems to be helping or getting me controlled

❤️ this post hits so hard because it's the same for me. I've been since I was 13, 33 now (34 in November) and honestly even when I was on the pump when I had insurance, it was checking my sugars that was always a problem. CGMs Jane only just started to become more mainstream and id love to use one, but I'm not entirely sure if my Medicaid coverage will allow it... I already have neuropathy and I've had issues with my eyes (but not to the point of diagnosing retinopathy) so I just am freaking out even though I know that these issues I have are entirely because of my issues with not taking proper care of my diabetes...

It's a pain having neuropathy so young and even worse when you get the random pains. I also wish everyday to just exchange this body with a normal, non diabetic one. I could do do much more with it...
