Struggling with Depression and Anxiety: Could it be BPD?

I’ve been struggling with depression and anxiety for a long time and I am genuinely worried that there is something deeper than just the depression and anxiety. I constantly talk to my therapist and I asked him if it could be BPD given that some of my symptoms that I deal with daily align with those of BPD. I know this does not mean that I have BPD per se, but I was wondering how I go about truly figuring out what’s going on. My therapist said he feels he has not gotten that “vibe” from me, however he has not been working with me very long - maybe 5 months. However, I also feel as if I do not communicate exactly what I am feeling across to him. Does anyone else have experience with this?

I personally would recommend going to a psychiatrist in tandem with the therapist. They focus on diagnosis (and med management if that’s ever an interest for you) and have first hand knowledge enough to usually diagnose some conditions or at least symptoms and work towards diagnosis after a few sessions. It’s helped me a lot working with one!
