I recommend staying away from OTC laxatives. There’s lots of foods that will give you the same effect in a healthier way. OTC laxatives are dangerous, you can end up becoming laxative dependent, meaning you won’t be able to go at all without them. They can give you cramps, make you dehydrated, cause dizziness, low blood pressure, electrolyte imbalance, and bloody stools. Yacon syrup is a natural sweetener that you can use instead of sugar that can help with constipation because it’s high in soluble fiber. Then of course you can try prunes, plums, bananas & apples. One thing I do every morning is take 8 oz of hot water, 2 tbsp of raw organic apple cider vinegar, 1 tsp cinnamon and 3 drops of stevia. The apple cider vinegar breaks down the food in your stomach to help you go & all the ingredients together have a host of health benefits. Berries, ginger, turmeric with pepper, leafy green veggies, tomatoes, avocados, beans, seeds & nuts, carrots and a bunch more stuff will help, but this is getting quite lengthy.

Oh and if you are really clogged up, take magnesium citrate. That's only if you desperate though because it is not pleasant. At all.

I'm with ya. Get some ground flaxseed and eat 1/2-1 tablespoon a day (I mix mine with a little Greek yogurt and granola). It takes a few days-a week to start working, but it is worth the wait! It will scrub your colon clean (but gently) and it feels soooooo GOOD! And then it keeps you going regularly daily. There's also a product I found called "15 Day Cleanse" made by Youth&Tonic on Amazon. When I'm feeling desperate for a poop, even a little one, I take 1-2 of those capsules with as much water as I can drink (at least a cup though) before bed and drink more water when I wake up and that stuff WORKS! Again, it's not harsh at all but it will get things out of you (depending on how stopped up you are and why you're stopped up it may take 2 or 3 days off taking it bit I've never used it for 15 days). The key to it working is WATER! I hope at least something I suggested works and helps for someone on here! It's absolutely miserable to be constipated and I've tried EVERYTHING... this is what I've finally found to help the most!

Have you tried Benefiber? Also, I know coffee is “bad”, but it’s the only thing that makes me poo.
