I have been in chronic pain Starting with my back) for many years. it was the time of Drs pushing opiates, but I also had some procedures that helped as well. The dont anymore. Know I need both knees replaced. It's beef bad for a long time, now my Dr says surgery....but I live alone. have no support, friend/family etc. I live on third floor walkup and can barely get necessities while I'm waiting for housing. (I'm 51f). I'm at my whits end. I don't want to get out of bed, it's affecting my mental health severely. I have a "Pain Management Specialist" who says I can only have Tylenol (Motrin has killed my kidneys) gives me muscle relaxers and creams that do nothing and shots that do nothing. I basically crawl into the office. they ask my pain scale like it matters. I understand the opioid chrisis. But there comes a point where some people need it to live or show me something that does. does anyone else understand? I feel they could easily control doses to make sure I'm not abusing it. if life is going to be like this much longer I JUST CANT.
