I'm always having a hard time with my physical health and hygiene. It's hard to explain but basically I can't make myself do simple things like brush my teeth or shower or cook good food. Most people would call it being lazy which is why I wanted to bring this up here with people who are similar to me. It's not that I don't want to be clean because I do. I also would rather eat good meals than just put some junk in the microwave. I just literally can't make myself do those things. I can clean my entire house and it would take all day but I can't make myself brush my teeth? It sounds so dumb. Do any of you experience anything similar?

      I used to have a hard time showering. I now just make sure I take a shower on specific days. Having a shower everyday is unnecessary, anyway. I also hate cleaning my house, in part because I feel like I would never stop, and partly because it grosses me out. I now make sure to do dishes everyday and clean up the bathroom a little bit every time I use it.

      Also this too even if the task may seem small it is very overwhelming for us so we avoid doing it. Brushing teeth showers . Just to many steps and your like no thanks I'll pass.

      Yup it's just ADHD not being lazy. You have no dopamine no motivation to do those boring tasks. So definitely something normal we all can relate to :) it sucks so much tho like I have all this time and I don't do anything! Like what's wrong with me. it's ADHD its not an excuse it's a reason to give yourself grace ❤️

      I definitely relate. To be honest, I only brushed my hair and teeth maybe 3 times for both this entire year so far. My showers get delayed because I forget alot. Usually I have to have someone else who does the same exact chores as me in order for me to not skip over it accidently.

        @Creator It's like my body thinks the small tasks are just so small that they aren't important. My memory is so bad when it comes to this.

      I had this problem for years and years and still struggle with it in a lot of areas. This is a small piece of advice, but it really helps me brush my teeth if I pace my room! Every time I pace back and forth, I brush a certain part of my mouth. It keeps me engaged and makes sure I brush for long enough.

      I understand this I've been dealing with it since i was younger, I've tried everything. Sometimes I'll find things to help but they will only last a few days for me. If you haven't tried maybe find some apps that mark what you did. Sometimes a visual tracker works as annoying as it sounds.

      Completely get this, but for me it's I have all this free time and I know I should be doing chores but I just can't force myself to do them, I barely even shower which I know is gross and I should but I don't. I try to make a deadline for me to meet but it doesn't always work. Just thought you could talk to someone who can relate 🤷‍♀️

        @Whyoming this is literally exactly what I go through. It's not like I don't have the time to do these things or even that I don't want to. I just don't do them. Idk how I am able to do chores all day but not take care of myself. So weird...

      I deal with the same thing. What I did for a while which might help is I set alarms to brush my teeth and I put it at about 7 (I only did one but you could also do one for the morning). I hope this helps! 💜
