Hello! I'm Jay, I understand the struggle. Mines been intense recently. Have you been trying different things to help? Or do you know where the excess anxiety is coming from?

I know where/what it's coming from, but I don't know how to help it at all

Trying to distract myself never works either

that's understandable. I have a hard time distracting myself too. I tend to hyper focus on them. Have you tried deep breathing and meditation? I know it's not for everyone so don't feel bad if it doesn't help either. There are so many ways to make it easier and it takes time, but trying all sorts of methods is the easiest to find what helps you, even if it's just a little.

deep breathing REALLY helps just take a second, breathe, close your eyes, & focus on your breathing until you feel somewhat more calm, then continue on with everything.

and making sure you're breathing into your belly not just your chest! That deep pull of breath always makes me feel the wash of anxious energy kinda flow out on the exhale.

There’s a lot of great grounding strategies that have really helped me on my journey. Try focusing on the sensory aspect of your mind to ground yourself during periods of rough anxiety-it usually works for me!

Check out the 5-4-3-2-1 strategy! That helps me sometimes. Sometimes I can think it, sometimes it helps me to write it. I even try to focus on things that make me feel happy or safe when I do it.

Check out the app Finch! It has a First Aid Kit section with breathing excercises and lots of good stuff. I also use the Wim Hof method even though it's a little bizarre. It makes me feel really great for a few minutes though and that's usually long enough to calm down a little bit. Try looking at a video for it on YouTube!

I’m sorry you’re feeling that way. I know how tough it is, have you considered seeing a therapist or psychiatrist? Therapy and medication are a great option for some people. A big thing that’s helped me is learning how to accept anxiety - which I sometimes still struggle with. It seems like a trivial thing but it can really help… there’s tons of books and blogs on it ♥️
