Struggling with Anxiety and Doctors

I struggle with anxiety everyday. I have a base line and it goes up from there and I’m am struggling the most with doctors right now as they seem to be at their wits ends with me and have no longer given me any hope of possibly coping. I am told to avoid triggers and it seems like my psychologist believes everything I do is a trigger; watching tv, watching movies, watching tiktok, reading, basically anything aside from going out into the world and facing my social triggers head on. I’m just at a loss.

Avoid triggers but go face your number one known trigger head on without any advice on how to do that without having an anxiety attack? I think you need a new psychologist… I’d recommend someone who does cognitive behavioral therapy. That’s the main way I’ve gotten my anxiety under control. if you put the work into practicing changing the way you think and challenging intrusive thoughts, and a good CBT can help you through that journey

That baseline thing is what I say too. But my therapist actually tells me to try and put myself in situations that challenge my anxiety. It doesn't have to be everything at once, just pick one thing at a time and try to focus on getting through that. And if it's too overwhelming, you can take a break and try something else. Sometimes avoiding triggers is all you can do, I stopped watching Crime TV and Medical Dramas after a mental breakdown. But once you're in a more stable place, you can try again. I don't know if this helps, but just know that you're not the only one who feels this way.
