New here. On pristiq and ativan, and still having a horrible time with my anxiety and depression. I’ve gone through every ssri and every snri, as well as Wellbutrin and trintellix. All have failed. Lately my anxiety is out of control. Do you have any recommendations for other classes of meds that have worked? Also, do you have any tips for battling anxiety and panic attacks that don’t involve deep breathing and meditation? (These do not work)

I have just completed the fifth of six IV Ketamine infusions. The infusions are comfortable and I’ve gone from a PHQ-9 of 25 down to a 7 yesterday! The only downside is that my psychiatrist doesn’t file insurance on the treatments, so it may be prohibitively expensive for some. There are also companies that do tele-health and mail the Ketamine to you.

@Limonata I don’t think I am in a state where this is legal otherwise I would look into this!

@Ally131 hey yeah its basically benadryl and I take goli brand ashwagandha gummies I just do what it says on the bottle which is 2 gummies twice a day and that totals 600 mgs and you can start out small and work your way up because some of the side effects that will go away by the way ate kinda hard I had horrible headache and stomach discomfort but for maybe 3 or 4 days I just took tylenol and was good they are really helping me oh and an added bonus it lowers your blood pressure it has a lot of good things it does!

@Ally131 just chiming in here - The generic name for hydroxyzine is Vistaril. It’s essentially an antihistamine (similar to Benedryl) but it helps with anxiety symptoms. I was on it for years and really liked it

I tried 5 or 6 different Medications the first 2 years I was diagnosed with Bipolar 2, depression, PTSD and anxiety, and nothing seemed to help until I was prescribed Venlafaxine (generic for Effexor). I have been using it, and Lexapro for a few years now with great results. I also use an ASMR app called Tingles at night with earbuds to quiet my racing thoughts.

Have you tried clonazapam its like all other benzos they come with dependency and have terrible withdrawal symptoms to me psilocybin would help more than any pharmaceutical and has no dependency

@Ally131 shrooms well the psychoactive chemical in shrooms. I have known a couple people who did respond really well to micro dosing.

@ROODY this works for me as well. 2mg works for me, I wish my doctor would understand that. I'm allowed 1 a day, but I don't take them if I don't need them so I usually end up having more at the end of the month anyway, but 1mg is never enough, but if I take 2, it's perfect. I want no more. But it helps better for the physical symptoms like hyperventilating, chest hurting, trouble calming down during an anxiety/panic attack. Hope this helps!!

I know there are genetic tests they can run to determine which classes of drugs will work better for you. Would that be an option?

@konijntje funny enough, I did the genesight test and every medication it showed would work well, did not
