Struggling with Anxiety and Autism Diagnosis

i think after i got diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder and as i'm working on getting a diagnosis for autism spectrum disorder, all these years of anxiety, stress, and potential masking have caught up to me. it's hard speaking to family and friends, even through text messages. i'm not quite sure if i even know who i really am anymore. but i'm still hopeful that my journey will bring me answers

I completely understand how you feel it's a difficult thing and as the road gets further down there will be times it feels like your being consumed more then likely and there will be times you don't aliveness remember you have it I was originally diagnosed with it at I think 9 and have been dealing with it since just know you are cared about I'm always here if you need to talk or if you just need someone to rant to either way I don't mind

You’re working on your autism diagnosis and I see that your anxiety diagnosis is also very recent. It can be so confusing when you’re learning all these new things about yourself and when what you thought was just your little quirks turn out to be symptoms. I got diagnosed with adhd and ocd this year and I lost myself. I wandered off into the dark void and never came back until now. I was so saddened by the helpless little me of the past and the symptoms that were suddenly so visible to me. Just remember that not everyone with autism and anxiety experience the same symptoms hence you’re still uniquely you. Give yourself some time to get to know the new you and engage in some new hobbies to keep yourself busy and pleasantly distracted. It will be okay. I promise.
