Struggling with Antidepressants: My Experience with Lexapro, Zoloft, and Prozac

Alright this is going to be long So i stared taking Lexapro in early 2021 for my depression and anxiety. It made my mood great, i was actually happy taking it, and i always felt good. But, I had this one side effect that started 6 months into taking it. It was horrible numbness and tingling, or Paresthesia, that gave me stroke like symptoms. it was so awful, I couldn’t leave my bed because something would go numb and I would get lightheaded. i threw up a lot because of this. I couldn’t dance for weeks, and i couldn’t even walk. After going to the ER so much, i got sick of it and asked my doctor to switch. It was such a rare symptom that they didn’t think it was the Lexapro causing it, but I was sure that it was based on blood tests and I also just had a gut feeling. They put me on Zoloft, and the numbness went away almost immediately. About a week into taking Zoloft, I started getting super sad and depressed. I was always mad, and i felt like shit all the time. My eating disorder even made a return. The next meds my doctor wanted me to try was Prozac. I’ve been taking prozac for 3 days now, and I’m already starting to experience similar symptoms as i did with Lexapro. I honestly don’t know what to do. I only have one medication left for me to try and that’s due to my allergies and other medications i’m taking. My last resort is Wellbutrin. I plan on giving Prozac another week or so to see if it gets any better. i’m super scared and upset. If you have or are taking wellbutrin, do you like it? I’m just super anxious right now

I haven't had these side effects myself. I'm taking Prozac right now and switched from Zoloft due to different side effects. I hope you find something that works for you, though. ❤️

How has this gone for you? Have you ever tried an SNRI? They have a little different profile than SSRIs. And Welbutrin is an NDRI so its different too. Bc those side effects are terrible, you don't need that crap! Hopefully, something worked for you by now!

Wow thank you for your story. I just started taking Prozac and I am wondering if I will experience the same symptoms but I appreciate you being brave to tell this story because it is giving light to mine.
