Struggling with Anger and Irritability

Does anyone else struggle with being angry at everything sometimes? I’m struggling with this, as well as just being upset and angry, arguing and debating with people online, even being a bitch to people in eating disorder (ED) spaces :/. Idk if its animosity/anger from my ED, ik its a thing ADHD people struggle with, as well as BPD, anxiety can come out as anger, irritability, am i just a piece of shit? Idk.

I have a lot of irritability and bitterness flare up when my mental and physical health are at a low. It’s usually from a sense of being abandoned or neglected by those around me. I’ve found it’s best to just tell people that I’m really irritable at the moment and if they won’t/can’t provide a safe space for it, then I keep to myself, maybe eat or take a nap until it blows over.

I’m definitely a lot more irritable especially when it comes to my chronic pain. I absolutely hate it because sometimes I lash out on my family and I feel horrible

Psychologically it is said that anger is a secondary emotion, commonly following sadness. What is it that is troubling you? When you have the energy, I suggest critically thinking about what may be the root of these bouts of anger. I’ve also heard that extreme anger can be a trauma response. Try not to be so hard on yourself. It’s sounds like you’re going through it, so reaching a boiling point due to residual stress buildup is common. Make sure you’re taking care of yourself, and giving yourself mental breaks if necessary. Wishing you the best c:

I get angry and moody. It’s been challenging at work to get along with my coworkers though I am making an effort if only they would do the same. It sucks because I don’t want to be like this. I’m usually happy and really nice but trauma has gotten the best of me.
