Struggling with ADHD Medication - Seeking Advice

so I'll start with my history before my question. from 7-20 I took Focalin (I think it only has XR) and it helped me from 7-13. past that I just kept increasing the dose to no avail. at 20 I switched to Vyvanse XR for 6 months. it made it hard for me to read and there would be random times in the day during which I could not read or focus and I had to force myself so hard to pay attention it was so stressful. I got off and went back to Focalin for a bit before switching to concerta XR. Concerta made me realize the other 2 made me suicidal only because concerta didn't. Concerta actually had no side effects! but also didn't help... we kept upping the does annnnd nothing. I explained to my psychiatrist my energy levels throughout the day on concerta were extremely inconsistent and there would be times of focus but I had no control over them at all. ive been considering asking to try something that is not XR. However, I would like to know if anyone else has experienced a loss of effectiveness of XR medications and if so have you found any relief in short release medications? has anything else helped?

So, I've only ever been on concerta, and am currently on the highest dose they make in a single pill. I've been on it since... I wanna say 3rd grade and I'm now 24. The dosage has changed throughout the years. Lately though, I can't focus even with it. The only thing I've found that actually helps is cbd gummies, but that wasn't even openly. Like, I bought em with cash and hid that I was taking them.
