Struggling to Stay Positive After a Move

Hey guys I need a little bit of support and advice. I'm going through a recent move and having trouble coping. It's just so hard to stay positive and I'd love any positive comments or advice anyone is willing to give. Thanks!

I’m sorry you’re going through this! But just keep in the back of your mind that the feeling is only temporary. It’ll feel weird for a little, but once you get adjusted, you’ll feel more relaxed. If you feel anxiety from time to time, try listening to music and or talking out/journaling your feelings. It’s better to get them out than holding them in. Also try doing things that make you most happiest

What seems to be giving you the most trouble? There’s so many stressful parts to moving, from the change of environment to organizing and packing, it’s absolutely understandable to feel stressed. Remember to be kind to yourself during this time; focus on self care, whether that be through giving yourself a little treat, or just making plans to chat with a friend. Depending on your situation, it might be helpful to get into a call with someone to help you unpack; or you could meet up with someone to explore your new area! Excitement can definitely feel very close to anxiety in our bodies, so it’s important to slow down and recognize what you’re feeling and what you need in that moment. You’re doing a great job reaching out and meeting this need, and I hope you can get some good ideas to keep you rolling forward.

I've been stressed about leaving my family and boyfriend and being in this whole new environment with no friends or any support. It's been hard on me the last few days and really brought back my depression

When moving for me, strangers is where I feel the most anxiety and depression. So, what I usually do is bake some cookies or brownies and you can being them over to your neighbors. Or go to the local bar on the weekends and see if you can meet some people there.
