Would this be considered semi-verbal or something else? I occasionally have these periods of time where i get irritated and then can't be bothered to speak. In these moments it feels like speaking just takes too much energy so i just give up and stay silent. This mainly happens after my class has been loud or someone has constantly been talking to me without me asking.

Sounds like if you're overloaded you have verbal shutdowns? Feeling like you don't want to speak is just as valid as not being able to btw!! No form of communication is superior to another

I feel this so much! Like if a teacher were to call on me I would respond in shortened sentences but would feel really really irritated after and would be so much more overwhelmed

I get this as well and it had been described by a physcologist as semi-verbal, or just as non speaking episodes
