Struggling to Make Friends in a New State

Hey everyone, I moved to a different state last year. I don't really have anybody to talk to besides my fiancé and his parents. I have always struggled to make friends and meet new people, due to my anxiety and depression ever since I can remember. It's even worse as an adult. I was wondering if anybody could give me some advice on how to work on that, or know any places to talk to people either online or in public?

If there is any kind of group or even church that you might be interested, try and join! There are also online chatrooms and such, even groups on Facebook with people who also struggle with these issues

I'm not religious, so a church wouldn't go well for me. But otherwise thanks for the tips!

Do you see a therapist? Sometimes they can suggest a group you can join to interact with like minded people. When I'm bored, I find chatrooms to engage in conversation, just guard your identity in those, don't give out personal info etc. Maybe have your fiance introduce you to their friends and/ or family members etc? Hope this helps 😊

I still yet to see a therapist. I have a lot to do, since a lot of my fiancés family members passing away recently. So I just have him and his parents. But otherwise thanks for the tips!
