Special interest groups, support groups, and knowing how to spot a fellow neurodivergent have helped me. I refuse to approach strangers in non-defined contexts because of the uncertainty. I also make "friends" with everyone I have the opportunity to because you never know who you might connect with and develop a deeper connection with. All of my long-term friends are autistic.

      * Something thats worked for me is either finding people who are also autistic or can “handle” what comes with being autistic. The person doesn’t need to be like an “expert” on autism but being able to help/accommodate you during certain moments is a good thing to have in a friend.

First find people who understand. That's the most important thing if people don't understand your 'issues' (couldn't think of a better word) then they won't expect them and that's typically what's given people problems with my autism and cPTSD traits
