I'm not a messy person typically. I can clean the whole house just fine but when I get to my room, I just get overwhelmed and don't even know where to start. Today I'm doing all my laundry since it's a day off from work. I feel a lot of shame thinking how long I go though. I'll go weeks without doing my laundry and wear every single piece of clothing until I have to wash everything. I clean my room maybe one or twice a month and it takes me maybe an hour every time. How do I get out of this cycle? I feel stuck. I struggle keeping things tidy in my room. not so much trash but clothes everywhere more so.

Sammmmeeeeee. I work in the veterinary field so I have to be REALLY clean. But my bedroom it's really hard. Something that helped actually is we moved and my room here is way smaller and less overwhelming. I still have clothes on my bench sometimes but it's way better.

Starting small is the best way to start. I typically start with making my bed and even that feels relieving. I also try to do small areas at once rather than trying to look at the room as a whole. I also love to vacuum it clears my head and feels like white noise so once I get to the point where I can vacuum it feels like a reward.

I have this too but I'm not a very organized person so my room, and any space I occupy for an extended time, gets disorganized and messy. My room is piled with clothes and random stuff and trash. I have a much easier time tidying things that are someone else's or shared with other people in my house. I think it's just a lot harder to clean things that are yours. I'm still learning and working on it so I'm sorry I don't have any good advice for you, but I wanted you to know you're definitely not alone in this phenomenon

@Bumbling_Bee sometimes knowing I'm not the only one helps as well, so thank you for that ❤

Your space reflects your mind, and your mind reflects your space...so, i try to do little by little. -Small victories count! (A d add up as well)🙏💕❤️
