Struggling to Get Treatment for Hyperthyroidism

Hello, my name is Alexandria. I was diagnosed with hyper at 15. I wanted to ask if anyone relates to the fact that it is a war to get treatment? The documents of my diagnosis are gone (though my mom has withheld the papers) and I guess that means I have to start over. Thyroid issues run deeply in my family, especially hyper. My last labs indicated that my TSH is at .6, T4 is 1.43, and my T3 is 3.50.. My sister (she has hypo) says, for my age that my TSH is a little low for my age, T4 is high, and high T3. I have all of the symptoms: my hair is very thin and is still falling out, low tolerance to exercise/muscle weakness and heat, extremely fast metabolism and can lose weight very quickly and it’s hard to gain back the weight, tachycardia and palpitations, insomnia., etc.. My first episode I had a thyroid storm (my life was sent to 3 months of hell after that, it was so traumatizing) and the only reason an ambulance wasn’t called is because my mother would not take me, long story short, she’s severely abusive and controlling and used my sickness as another way to control me.. I lost hope til I looked at an article for a Drs office in Pensacola Florida; they said that some lab tests that are normal may not be normal for others, like me. Advice, anything is appreciated! I need help

Hey I’m sorry to hear this! I’ve been having the same issues! My hair is thinning, but the medication they had me on wasn’t helping, and i have an infection in my stomach which is making my stomach not tolerate any medications. I spent 3 days in the hospital because I couldn’t even keep water down.

Hello Alexandria, I loved reading your post and story. I have very very recently been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and have so many of the same symptoms as you. I haven’t gotten a definite treatment plan either, but I would love to talk more about it to you privately!
