Struggling to Get My Doctor to Believe Me

hi guys, I'm having difficulty getting my doctor's to believe me about how bad my condition is despite the fact that I have witnesses who see it on the daily and continue to help me advocate for myself. I'm tired of being gaslit by medical professionals. what are some tips to get through to them?

Tell them if they can put on your chart that they refused to test you, diagnose you or treat you. That gets em sweating. See if you can find a health advocate with your local social services office

If they belong to a practice that isn't there right them up and send it to the lead doc or whoever. Review them on the internet tanking their numbers and they will learn to listen to you!

I believe we are the best doctor for our health. Doctors treat symptoms or a life threatening situation. Meds got me no where but more sick and tired. Depressed too. When I decided to go off a bunch of meds and start treating things naturally I began to heal. I've lost alot of weight am off over 10 meds. My doctor is gonna freak.lol I don't care,I was bedridden with many major health issues and now I'm healing. Our health care system in the U.S is broken and doesn't work. Eric Berg DC on YouTube helped me alot to find natural solutions to heal not just pop a pill that has side effects.

I think you should switch doctors.. look for doctors who specialize in your conditions. Document everything! And get records of test etc you’ve have taken.

Sometimes you just have to let them know they need to take you more seriously and to take their heads out of their butts. I rarely have had to do that but some doctors think the patient knows nothing about themselves. Come with a list of questions and concerns written out too and have a list of your symptoms and when you get each symptom. Document, document, document. If that doesn't work, switch doctors.

Take a witness with you to a doctor's appointment and then bully your doctor. I'm serious. Be as mean and stubborn as you have to be to be taken seriously

I’m sorry that you are being treated this way. I’ve been dismissed by many medical professionals over the years. It sounds like something really positive that you have going for you is your support system who advocate on your behalf. If it is possible to have someone attend your appointments with you, it may be helpful. It’s also a good idea to keep a journal of how you are feeling…see if there are any particular trends. I often become anxious at the doctors office and draw a blank. That is why I write everything down that I want to address. Also, you could get a second (or third) opinion from another physician, if feasible for you. Unfortunately, it’s a truly terrible time to be ill. The health systems are overwhelmed. Personally, for most of my life, I was not able to stand up for myself. You have the right to give your input. Doctors do not know everything. It is ok for you to question their opinions. If you remain persistent and continue advocating for yourself, hopefully you can get some answers and start to feel better. Please listen to your body. You know when something is wrong. Best to you ❤️
