Iv'e probably been on 15-20 depression/anxiety meds and still not on one that's help since Zoloft, but after 20+ years it stopped working. I'm at my wits end. Has anyone tried Xanax? problem is my provider won't prescribe it.

Benzodiazepines are seriously addictive. I was on for 10 years and was hospitalized to get off of them. It makes you More anxious. You start feeling withdrawal every day and want more of the drug. Short term use is best and now that I’m off I can’t get them either. Nobody will prescribe. Be careful

They won't give you Xanax anymore. Years ago my neurologist prescribed it to me for sleep. The gov changed all that.

I just started a minimal dose of 0.25mg Thursday. Still unsure if it works. I have a doctor appointment on Monday and I’m going to talk to him about it then

Hi there. I've been on many meds for depression and anxiety. I'm a retired geriatric nurse so am familiar with meds. I've been on xanax atiban and clonopine for anxiety. And for depression I was put on zoloft prozac wellbuterin and quite a few others that I can't think of. None of them worked. But yay! They finally put me on cymbalta and it has worked great for me. I have no side effects at all. I'm mot on ativan anymore. They took off of it and haven't been on any anti anxiety mefs sonce so I just deal with it. However I have diabetic neuropathy so take requip and doxipin which make me sleepy. So it makes life bearable. I really hope I could help. I do carw

Just to clarify. I have been under doctors care for years and follow their plan for me. Everyone is different and reacts differently to medications. I keep Ativan close for panic attacks that can’t be controlled. I don’t take it daily. It keeps me from jumping out of a car or walking on the freeway. But this is just me. No two are the same🤗

For anxiety, Xanax shouldn’t be used for longer periods of time. If you’re looking for an alternative to depression/anxiety and you’re treatment resistant to medication, there’s a treatment that’s covered by Insurance called TMS. it’s electromagnetic stimulation. Look into it if you can.

I have tried Xanax. It helped calm me. But I prefer Ativan 🤗

Oh no, I was on Kolonopin for two weeks and no one could stand me! I wanted to kill myself. This pretty much drove me crazy while on it. Never again!

I have been on klonopin for years. It was first prescribed for my anxiety. While taking it, I found out that it helped my TMJ. NOTHING! has helped my TMJ. I'm slowly seeing warning signs that are leading me to believe that I'm going to start having trouble getting them in the near future. It still works if I have a panic attack though 😊

From what I’ve been told the better medication for anxiety is kolonopin ( clonazepam ) it’s got a longer half life which basically means you don’t feel like you need more before your next dose. Noting that no benzodiazepines should be taken any longer than six weeks, even this can be long enough to develop a physical dependence. Benzodiazepines have been compared to heroin withdrawal if not used very short term when symptoms arise. There are possibly non addictive worthy alternatives to address anxiety and/or depression. I’ve been on clonazepam for 18yrs I’m not sure I will ever be able to detox from this drug comfortably and without lifelong repercussions . I don’t take more than 1 mg prescribed daily not sure if I’ll ever have to increase dosage due to tolerance. Drs have freely prescribed this drug to me for this many years it is now becoming an epidemic similar to the opioid crisis because of recreational use and will become more restricted and more difficult to get in the future. There was a documentary called the Benzo Crisis that should better inform you to be cautious of these medications if not do everything to avoid them. Good luck too you and god bless
