Struggling to Find Happiness

I find it really hard to laugh and be happy recently, I've debated telling my mom I should get diagnosed with depression but I'm scared of what she'll say. we have a tight bond so ik she won't get mad, but I don't want her to worry.

People might worry but that just means they care, be open and honest and seek a diagnosis, it helps in the long run.

It's best to be open and productive about it early, especially if you're noticing that your life is changing because of it. It would have made a world of difference if I told my friends or family the first few years that I was depressed. She will worry but she'll also understand and be happy you told her!

when i was in high school i told my mom that i thought i had anxiety and wanted to see a therapist so that someone else could deliver the depression news to her. not necessarily a good solution, but it’s what i did.
