Struggling to Find a Hobby or Talent

I literally have no hobbies or talents. Sports, art, music, writing, none of that im good at nor interested in. & I’ve never had any. I mean I love listening to music but I don’t have a favorite singer or band. I’ve never had one. Like when people ask me what do I like to do literally only things I love to do is help others, spend time with my puppy friends and family. I’ve tried to find things that pique my interest but it’s usually just short lived.

Depression can really sap your enjoyment of things so that could be part of it but I really don’t see anything wrong with not having conventional hobbies if you are fulfilled and satisfied with your life. Helping others is an incredible interest to have and it’s so intensely rewarding. Every time I’ve gotten involved with volunteer work it has genuinely been some of the happiest moments of my life. A passion for people is a beautiful gift to have, you don’t have to fit into a box of “normal” interests

Totally get this. I can never stick with things for very long, and especially when trying new things, I have a bad habit of getting frustrated and giving up when I'm not immediately good at it. It really is tricky :(

I know exactly how this feels. I feel like I have no talent, but I also have no patience for anything. I think my impatience gets in the way of having hobbies

Having short lived hobbies are definitely an ADHD thing. The best ones I've found usually have to do with crafting and things that require repetitive motions (ie. balloon animals, crochet, knitting, paracord bracelets). It's like fidgeting for me but the difference is that it's actually productive.

there’s lots of thing to do to help others! volunteering at a soup kitchen, churches, etc. but you have to help yourself too! find something that interests you and go for it. i’ve had struggles finding things i’m good at but it’s slowly coming to me each day! practice makes perfect❤️❤️
