Do you have strong emotions associated with sensory ideas?

Hello! This is more of me being curious since I’ve been trying to get to know myself more. So, I have a hard time explaining this as I was trying to with my mom earlier, but I truly wanna know if others have this as well. When it comes to things like music, a lot of people tend to feel really strong emotions associated with specific songs and lyrics, and yes I get that too but usually it plays into my “main” emotion of that time (they aren’t emotions I can describe, making me wonder if it has to do with alexithymia, but it’s so strong that simple words can’t begin to describe it), such as ambitious or along those lines. I also have this strongly associated to memories, which also associate to very specific sensory things (i.e. when I hear the sound of a lawn mower, my brain associates it with the general feeling and sentimental emotion of summertime or the end of the school year and the warm sun). I’m just wondering if anyone else has emotions this strong as well that are veryyy associated to sensory ideas. Not sure if this is just because my imagination and visual brain is so vivid, or if it’s just because that’s what peoples brains may do. Either way I like to see good memories or small moments in high detail to remember when I want to, so many people pass by these small moments and miss it. I love small things like looking at the mountains and watching birds!! It’s a lot of fun and means so much to me :)

Definitely! Music especially connects me to certain memories, and I’ll repeat a specific phrase of music in my head or play it out loud to bring happy memories. Sometimes music is just better at conveying emotions than words, sometimes I wish I can just say “I feel like the overture to Swan Lake” and have people understand me. And with finding a lot of joy in little details, I completely relate

i actually used to deliberately listen to specific songs during happy moments so that i could use the song to remember how i felt then when i got depressed because i have no emotional object permanence. like one in particular i was looking out the window of the bus and the view was gorgeous and now every time i hear that song i can see it in vivid detail and remember exactly how i felt. idk if that’s the same thing you’re describing but it’s similar at least i think
